Angelo & Veronica Set to Perform for Inaugural Concert

Dove Award-winning music duo Angelo & Veronica are set to perform at the "Celebration of Change" concert on January 17, 2009 at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, as part of President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural celebration. The pair will share the stage with GRAMMY Award winners Regina Bell and John P. Kee, the Rev. Al Sharpton and former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

"It's incredible to be a part of the inaugural festivities," says Angelo. "I hope that all Americans will get behind our new President and pray for his success. I'm excited for this nation."

The story of Angelo and Veronica Petrucci is like a scene out of West Side Story. A beautiful Puerto Rican girl from New York City and a handsome Italian man from Boston meet and fall in love. Unlike the movie, Angelo & Veronica's love perseveres against all odds, all racial and cultural barriers. Married now for 16 years and with seven hit albums to their credit, Angelo & Veronica still bring music that is deeply personal and universally relevant.

In 1991, the Berklee School of Music-trained Angelo & Veronica signed their first recording contract with Benson Records, where they recorded four projects, Higher Place, A&V, Give Your Life and Da Tu Vida. They recorded Not Enough on Verity Records in 1996. In 1999, the couple signed with Harmony Records, a division of Sony, Inc., where they recorded Change, produced by J Moss of PAJAM Music (*NSYNC, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Sapp) and Michael J. Powell (Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight). Angelo & Veronica have taken home three Dove Awards for their work.
The pair has sung background vocals on CDs by Michael Bolton, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Kirk Whalum and others, and they have collaborated with hit songwriters such as Fred Hammond, J. Moss and Percy Bady. During the past fifteen years, Angelo & Veronica have made numerous television appearances, including BET's highly rated "Bobby Jones Gospel," and have toured around the world with top gospel artists including Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, CeCe Winans, Karen Clark and the Clark Sisters, Vicki Winans, and Donnie McClurkin. In 2005, Veronica launched an organization called "A Voice for Women" to help women with self-esteem, self-worth and body image issues.

In 2009, Angelo & Veronica are set to release their new CD, Still in Love, a collection of songs celebrating marriage and family produced by Bryan Lenox (Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant, Enrique Iglesias), Angelo Petrucci (Israel Houghton, Ben Tankard, Angelo & Veronica) and Hollywood Music Award-winner Will Champlin. Also in 2009, Veronica will also release Atrèvete a Soñar, her debut solo Spanish language CD, produced by Isaac Sakko, Richard Marcell and Angelo Petrucci.
