Selah plans a Sept. 11 performance at the Pentagon

Washington—Multi GMA Music Award-winning Curb recording artist Selah is slated to perform at the Pentagon on September 11. The group will be the featured musical guest at a multi-faith memorial service marking the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Selah will also present a 30-minute concert immediately following the service.

The Army Chief of Chaplains, Chaplain Maj. Gen. David H. Hicks, will serve as the special guest speaker, and Selah will perform “You Raise Me Up,” “Bless The Broken Road,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” and “All My Praise” during the memorial service. Organized for Pentagon work force personnel and families, the event will honor and remember those who gave their lives at the Pentagon and elsewhere in the United States on September 11, 2001.

Selah’s first new recording in more than two years, Bless The Broken Road – The Duets Album, released August 8 and has held the #1 position on Nielsen SoundScan’s Christian Retail chart for three consecutive weeks. A collection of collaborations with some of Christian music’s top artists, The Duets Album also showcases Selah’s new female vocalist, Amy Perry.

In addition to the Top 5 Christian AC hit, “Bless The Broken Road,” featuring Melodie Crittenden, The Duets Album includes selections with Nichole Nordeman, BarlowGirl, Nicole C. Mullen, Plumb, Kim Hill, Jason and Adam Crabb, Christy Nockels, Jill Phillips and Cynthia Clawson.

Known for their fresh interpretations of hymns and classic Christian songs, Selah surpassed career sales of more than 1 million albums in 2005. The group has received five GMA Music Awards, including three for Inspirational Album of the Year, as well as nominations for Artist and Group of the Year. Selah’s #1 hits include “All My Praise,” “Press On,” “Wonderful, Merciful Saviour,” and the multi-format breakthrough, “You Raise Me Up.”
