Word Entertainment has named Laura McAlister Senior Vice President for Word Entertainment.

McAlister, whose most recent post was Vice President and Controller, will now oversee all financial aspects of Word Entertainment including finance, credit, and royalties. In this new role, she is also responsible for the financial reporting process to parent company Warner Music Group.

"This much-deserved promotion recognizes Laura's role as an integral member of Word Entertainment's management team," said Malcolm Mimms President and COO of Word Entertainment/COO of Warner Nashville. "Her proven leadership abilities are a great asset to our company."

McAlister has been employed with Word since January of 1986. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Masters Degree in Business of Administration from Murray State University.
