Warner officially announces signing of GlassByrd

Warner Bros. Records - Christian Division announces the addition of GlassByrd, a contemporary pop band fronted by Marc Byrd and Christine Glass, to its Word Records roster.

"We are so excited to have GlassByrd as a part of our family," comments Barry Landis, President of Warner Bros. Records Christian Division. "This album has been a favorite of mine since the day I got here."

"The most important thing we have to offer is our hope in the living Christ. Thankfully, Word has given us a creative platform to communicate this truth," says Christine, while Marc adds, "To have an outlet for expression is such a rare gift. Having worked in many facets of Christian music-artist, songwriter, producer, etc..., I feel confident in those around us who have embraced our vision for this group."

GlassByrd, will offer up its debut project, Open Wide This Window, February 11, 2003. Co-produced by Byrd and award winning producer Steve Hindalong, one goal of the album is to provide an inspiring praise-filled journey of contemporary songs about God's amazing love. The songs for this project aim to bring the listener into a place of worship and meditation, without following the regular formula of a 'worship' album.

"We are pleased to offer this record to the Body. We have spent the majority of our careers as artists in the more underground alternative scene, making music for a small group of people. Our desire is that this record will offer genuine hope to all who hear it," explains Christine.

Marc Byrd and Christine Glass each have a rich history within the Christian music industry. Byrd, former front man for the now-defunct band Common Children, is co-writer of the song "God of Wonders" and was nominated in both 2001 and 2002 for the Songwriter of the Year. This year alone, his songwriting efforts have produced five Top 10 radio hits, including the #1 single, "Show Me Your Glory" from Third Day. Byrd has also been beefing up his producer muscles, by co-producing the first two City On A Hill projects. He is currently in the studio producing the new album from Sonicflood.

Glass has released two critically acclaimed solo projects, Human and Love and Poverty. And, she is a great songwriter in her own right, penning songs for Nichole Nordeman, the City On A Hill albums, Traveling Light, and many other artists in the Christian music industry. Christine's vocals can also be heard backing artists such as Audio Adrenaline and Andy Hunter. GlassByrd (originally known as Adore) has already had several songs appear on modern worship compilations Eterne, Our God of Wonders, and Traveling Light, raising anticipation of the band's debut album.
