Here to Him Music looking for big year in 2003; company names new president
|
After more than four years, five Dove Award finalist nominations, and one Dove Award, Here to Him Music restructures for growth. Effective January 1, 2003, Ryan Howard, who from the label’s inception has served as the vice president of marketing, will assume the position of president. Concurrently, Glenn Wagner, president of Glenn Wagner Resource Group and current general manager of Here to Him Music, will part with the company. Wagner will maintain his Nashville-based marketing and consulting firm for a number of other clients in the music industry as well as continuing to produce various projects. Dennis Disney and his agency, D-Squared Entertainment, will continue overseeing the company’s artist development from his offices, also in Nashville. The announcement was made by John Howard, President of Howard Publishing, parent company of Here To Him Music.
Wagner began working with the label at its inception as a consultant in 1998 and later was named general manager. Along with helping craft the company’s distribution agreement with Provident Music Distribution, he also brought to Here to Him Music such noted projects/artists as He Chose the Nails (which garnered several Dove Award nominations and won the award for Best Musical in 2002), one of Nashville’s most popular bands, Ceili Rain, and critically acclaimed modern worship bands Among Thorns and The Parachute Band. “Over these years it has been both a privilege and a pleasure to develop a music division with Howard Publishing,” says Wagner. “The integrity and quality of the people at the company give them a tremendous opportunity for growth in both Christian music and book publishing.”
“Glenn has led us well through the turbulent start-up time,” says John Howard. “His leadership and loyalty have been invaluable to us. Now, it’s time for us to internalize more of the responsibilities, as we approach this next phase in our growth with great expectations. We hope great things for Glenn as he continues to build his company, and we look forward to possibly working with him as a producer.”
Here to Him Music expects 2003 to be a year of unprecedented growth. In addition to celebrating its upcoming fifth anniversary in March, the company eagerly anticipates the launching of two new rock bands on its Cross Driven imprint next year, the February 2003 release of the critically acclaimed Octane remix series, the signing of a new female worship artist, and a new project from The Parachute Band. Here to Him Music Group is a West Monroe, L.A. based company with three imprints: Here to Him Music®, Worship Extreme®, and Cross-Driven Records®.
