Bono named MusiCares Person of the Year for work with African AIDS victims

Billboard.com is reporting today that U2 frontman Bono has been named the 2003 MusiCares Person of the Year. He will be honored at an event in New York two days before the Grammy Awards next year.

MusiCares is an organization that "works to focus the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community."
