TMB Records Invites All Radio to Honor 9-11 Heroes by Playing “The Lord’s Prayer” from Let’s Roll: Together in Unity, Faith and Hope
Congressmen J. C. Watts, House Majority Whip Tom DeLay, Wynonna, Steven Curtis Chapman, Nicole C. Mullen, Lila McCann, Out Of Eden, Jennifer Knapp, James Curlin, Anointed and the Nashville String Machine, among others are featured on the song.
TMB Records invites radio stations from every format to join in unity Sept. 11 at 9:55 a.m. EST by playing “The Lord’s Prayer” from the album Let’s Roll, a recording to benefit the Todd M. Beamer Foundation. An MP3 version of the song is available for radio programmers at www.letsrollmusic.com/formf.
“During the final minutes of United Flight 93, Todd Beamer prayed the Lord’s Prayer and then, along with Jeremy Glick, Mark Bingham, Thomas Burnett and the rest of the passengers of the flight, showed us what ‘united as one’ really means,” says Let’s Roll producer, GRAMMY winning/Oscar nominated executive/producer/composer and close friend of Todd Beamer, Tony McAnany (Chant, P.O.D).
“It has been reported that the flight ended at 10:03 a.m. on 9-11,” continues McAnany. “It is our request that all radio stations around the country, AM, FM, web, and satellite, regardless of format, play “The Lord’s Prayer” at 9:55 a.m., the approximate time when Todd would have prayed the Lord’s Prayer with 911 operator Lisa Jefferson.”
McAnany, who has worked on recordings that have sold more than 40 million copies, rallied together an all-star cast to perform a special arrangement of “The Lord’s Prayer” for the Let’s Roll CD, including, in order of appearance, Nicole C. Mullen, Steven Curtis Chapman, Joy Williams, Lila McCann, Out Of Eden, Bart Millard (Mercy Me), Jennifer Knapp, Selah, James Curlin, Plumb, Mark Stuart (Audio Adrenaline), Street Called Straight, Wynonna, Jody McBrayer, Jonathan Pierce, Anointed and the Nashville String Machine. The song also features the voices of Congressmen J. C. Watts and House Majority Whip Tom DeLay.
“My hope is that The Lord’s Prayer will become our country’s prayer of unity, faith and hope, regardless of our individual spirituality. As those heroic passengers showed, those words of The Lord’s Prayer can provide peace, comfort and strength in the worst of times,” says McAnany.
In addition to “The Lord’s Prayer,” Let’s Roll features 17 more compelling songs that were inspired by the heroism shown on 9-11 and the hope that we all have for tomorrow. Fourteen of its 18 songs are originals, which longtime Beamer family friend McAnany wrote or co-wrote in the aftermath of Sept. 11. The recording will release nationally tomorrow (Sept. 10) through Chordant Distribution Group for the CBA market and through EMD for the general market.
All profits from this tremendously anticipated, genre-spanning collection will benefit The Todd M. Beamer Foundation, whose mission is “to equip children experiencing family trauma to make heroic choices every day.” Lisa Beamer, Todd’s widow, who is now the best-selling author of Let’s Roll, launched the organization to honor United Flight 93 and “to extend Todd Beamer’s legacy of character, faith and courage.”
