Daily Planet scores first #1 radio hit
|
With the August 20 release of its debut album right around the corner, Daily Planet claims the #1 position on R&R’s Christian CHR chart with its debut single, “Flying Blind.”
With a #1 song under its belt, Daily Planet now prepares its two-week promotional tour in key cities such as Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, Grand Rapids, and Orlando, among others. The band will conduct interviews with local radio and media outlets as well as perform concerts in designated areas. During its promotional tour, Daily Planet is scheduled to open up for Jars of Clay at “Glory in the Grove” in McMinnville, Oregon.
“It’s always great to see other people respond so positively to the music and artists you believe in. This is a tremendous affirmation of Daily Planet and the band’s debut,” notes Dean Diehl, general manager of Reunion Records.
Daily Planet performed at Spirit West Coast, Inside Out Soul Festival, and Atlanta Fest among other festivals this summer in support of the upcoming album release. Daily Planet will also be heading out in mid-September with ShoutFest, a new one-day traveling festival, which includes Salvador, Rachael Lampa, and Jeff Deyo among other artists. Running through mid-November, ShoutFest will hit 30 markets, including Phoenix, Austin, Texas, and Minneapolis.
Preparing for the release of Hero, Daily Planet is conducting extensive radio and media visits throughout the United States. Daily Planet recently performed a free concert in Bangor, MA sponsored by WHMX.
