Jaci Velasquez to headline fall tour

Jaci Velasquez will embark on her headlining nationwide fall tour on September 19, 2003. Unspoken - The Tour will feature Velasquez along with special guests Salvador, Generation J, and newcomer Michael Cook.

"We are very excited to have Jaci kick off her Unspoken - The Tour here in Houston at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, her own hometown,” J.R. Hernandez, KSBJ special events director said. “We’ve seen her and her ministry mature over the years, and our listeners have enjoyed coming to each concert that we've sponsored. Jaci's new release expresses her willingness to show the listener what is on her mind about her faith and her life. It is awesome to know that she definitely has a passion to reach people with what she has to say through her music. Our station encourages people to breakdown barriers of race, religion, and gender, and Jaci is a great example of that.”

The tour will highlight Velasquez’s highly-acclaimed album Unspoken, which released in March. Velasquez will again be touring with a full band and will perform a majority of the music from her new project in addition to her best-loved songs.

With the addition of Salvador and Generation J, the music mix of the evening should prove to break down all kinds of barriers -- age, race, ethnicity, and musical styles.”

As a key element to the tour, and one of the most unique music industry promotions, major radio stations across the country will be partnering with Unspoken - The Tour, to allow fans of Velasquez to be given the opportunity to perform with her on stage as winners of an unprecedented contest. Christian radio will be hosting contests where the contestants will send in their own rendition of Jaci’s current radio single, “Jesus Is.” The winner’s in each market will be chosen in various ways by the local station, and the winner will have the opportunity to sing the song with Velasquez at their local concert. In each market, the top five finalists will receive a Jaci Velasquez CD library. The winner will receive an autographed CD library, tickets, and the chance to meet and sing with Velasquez live on stage.
