Greg Long injured in motorcycle accident
|
Greg Long suffered a broken collar bone and numerous abrasions after running off the road on a motorcycle last Friday. He is currently recuperating at home, and is expected to make a full recovery. Fans are advised to check with local concert venues prior to attending any upcoming shows, as Long does not yet know when he will be able to tour again.
Long and his wife Janna (of Avalon) were visiting friends in Nashville this past Friday for a cookout, when Long took his wife for a ride on a friend's motorcycle. After dropping Janna off, he went to take one more spin, and reportedly was not traveling very fast, when the bike hit gravel on a curve and the motorcyle went down. Long had not been planning on riding so he was only wearing shorts, although he did at least have a helmet on.
He landed on the road and his helmet was pretty scrapped up on the left side. He suffered a broken clavicle (collar bone), although if he hadn't been wearing the helmet, doctors believe it would have been significantly worse. After the crash, Long could not get to his phone, but eventually someone who was driving by stopped and called for help. He still can't lift his left hand above his waist and is said to be in a lot of pain.
Please keep Greg Long in your prayers.
