Byron Cage tours in celebration of solo project release
|
Gospo Centric recording artist Byron Cage will begin his Prince of Praise Tour this month in conjunction with the February 18 release of his self-titled album. Cage will perform his well known style of praise & worship music throughout the United States during the 20+ city tour.
Following the events of 9/11 and more recently the tragic loss of the crew of the Columbia space shuttle, Cage feels a call to minister to the suffering people of this nation. His cross-cultural music brings comfort and hope to audiences and leads them into the presence of the Lord.
"Therešs a very human side to all of us that cries out to the Lord in times of trouble and situations where we feel overwhelmed by life's circumstances. But in all we go through, we need to remember that the Lord is a shield for us," says Cage.
Cage's latest album, produced by multiple-Stellar Award winner and labelmate Kurt Carr, features songs written or co-written by some of Gospel music's most celebrated writers including Cage, Carr, and Donnie McClurkin. The project was recorded live at Atlanta's New Birth Cathedral and features the voices of the Kurt Carr Singers and Cage's own group, Purpose.
Cage, who toured and performed with the late Gospel music great Thomas Whitfield, is currently the Senior Minister of Church Worship and Music Administration at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, Maryland, one of the largest African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) churches. Formerly the Minster of Music at the New Birth Cathedral in Atlanta, Cage now serves as the International Minister of Music for Bishop Paul Morton's Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, one of the world's major Baptist church organizations.
