Jimmy Abegg
Best known as one of Rich Mullins' Ragamuffins, Jimmy Abegg (aka Jimmy A) is now serving as Creative Director (aka "Image Czar") at Rocketown Records. It is unknown if he intends to record ever again. He's also an accomplished painter.

Age of Faith
Plans to release new CD in 2004. Frontman Jimi Ray created a new record label, Steelroots Records, home to bands like Strange Occurrence and The Combat Junkies, but left in the summer of 2003 to run the gospel division of KB Records. Ray also is working on solo material and hosts the music video show REPLAY on the Inspiration Network.

Paul Alan
A reliable source has indicated to CMCentral that Alan is preparing to record his second album soon. Alan has also recently married and reportedly has acquired steady and reliable work outside of the music industry, while continuing to write.

Allies
Retired. Lead vocalist Bob Carlisle has gone on to a successful solo career, and currently lives in Las Vegas. Founding member Randy Thomas owns a recording studio in Franklin, TN. Founding member Sam Scott now lives in Westerville, OH, and continues to write songs for the likes of Carlisle, Avalon, and others. He works as a builder and realtor. Matthew Chapman lives in California and continues to play bass. Jimmy Erickson lives outside of Nashville and plays drums part-time.


All Together Separate
This eclectic rock band performed its last concert on March 22, 2003 at Azusa Pacific University. The band cited a desire to pursue "new paths" as its reasons for disbanding, although the possibility was left open that they could regroup for other projects in the future. Drew is currently playing with Switchfoot. Former lead singer Dex Alexander is working as a solo artist. Bassist Charles Rumahlewang stays busy as a session bassist, keyboardist, arranger, and producer in the Los Angeles area. Drummer Ben Rayls is currently playing and touring with a new Latin-rock band out of Southern California called Moi.

Maia Amada
After two nationally-released records, Amada went on to become a successful independent artist, releasing two independent albums, Out of the Ashes and a Christmas album, Scarlet Ribbons. Find out more about her ministry at her website (below).

Angelo & Veronica
A&V released their last album in 1999, Change. The recently contributed a duet to an album called Worthy Of, which was released by Christ Life Church.

Carolyn Arends
After her contract with Reunion Records ended, Arends moved on to a smaller label based out of own native Canada. She continues to record and tour.

Ash Mundae
Chuck Ash now co-fronts a pop/rock band based in Nashville called Hether (not a typo), which is reportedly entertaining label interest now, and does not consider itself to be a Christian band. Jeremy Ash is now an independent solo artist and songwriter.

Susan Ashton
Ashton left Christian Music and moved to mainstream Country music in early 1999 and released a country album, entitled Closer, in July of '99, on Capitol Records. She has also done background work for artists like Garth Brooks, but nothing is known about her recent activities.

Aurora
After the Pamplin Records closing in 2001, the trio decided to go back and finish college. Lauren got married in May 2002. The group's website is still up and running, but long out-of-date. Future recording plans are unknown.

Brian Barrett
He's been spotted performing here and there over the years, but word has it he's lost interest in recording. A CMCentral reader tells us that Barrett and his wife have been in serving as missionaries in Poland, and plan to remain there for the time time being.


Beanbag
Disbanded in late 2002 after a severe accident in their tour van. All of the band's members have since healed and are alive and well.

Margaret Becker
Becker released a new album through Here to Him Music in 2003. In late 2002 she released an acoustic set disc called My Refuge (available through her website, below). She also produced Ginny Owens' acoustic CD, Blueprint, which also released in late 2002. She is said to be focused on mentoring right now.

Believable Picnic
After two albums on Absolute Records, according to a CMCentral reader, Believable Picnic became The Luxury Stars in 2001 and has been playing shows in and around Tennessee for the last couple years. The band has been promising to release a full album for years, but it hasn't happened yet.

Benjamin
Disbanded after two albums. Benjamin Gaither still writes music, and has been involved in creating and producing children's videos, among other things. Drummer Larry Babb has toured in various bands over the years. Beth Fox recorded a solo independent album. Other band members pop up in various roles from time to time. Tiffany Arbuckle has probably achieved the most notoreity, with her career as rock & roll singer/songwriter Plumb.


The Benjamin Gate
The Benjamin Gate called it quits in late 2003. Lead vocalist Adrienne Liesching recently was married to solo rocker Jeremy Camp.

Aaron Benward

Lisa Bevill
The fabulous Ms. Bevill has once again slid off the radar, after returning to the scene a few years ago with a self-titled album. She had indicated thereafter that she hoped to continue her recording career, but aside from background vocals and liner notes, she has rarely been seen.

Beyond the Blue
Disbanded after one album. Marty Funderburk works with the Southern Gospel label Daywind Records, and continues to write, produce, engineer, vocal coaching, arranging, and background vocals (mostly in the Southern Gospel genre). Steve Smith lives in Atlanta, and works as a manager in the music industry. He also started an Artist/Sports Management company.


Big Fat Jam

Big Tent Revival
According to Randy Williams, "My band, Big Tent Revival, never "officially" broke up--not that anyone cares, but in the spirit of your column, I'll offer the info. Steve Wiggins is recording his second solo album this spring/summer. Spence Smith is the head of the artist program at Compassion, Int'l. Steve Dale is the high school youth minister at Christ Community Church in Franklin, TN. I was touring with Tait but moved to Los Angeles last summer to write and play with various folks, and David Alan and Rick Heil (original bassist) are playing with Sonicflood. There are occasional conversations about recording again or to play the odd show, but nothing so far."

Kim Boyce
Kim, and her husband, Gary Koreiba, now live in Branson, MO where Gary is a member of the popular Branson vocal group, Pierce Arrow. Kim also sings at the Pierce Arrow Theater as the main Female Vocalist. Check her out at www.piercearrowtheater.com. Kim and Gary are the proud parents of Little Gary, 9, and Alexander, 5. Kim and Gary have just completed their first duet album project, which is scheduled for release on the newly formed Renaissance Music Group label.


Broomtree

Matt Brouwer
Moved in 2002 from Nashville to Houston to work alongside Chris Tomlin in a worship gathering called "The Harvest." According to his website, Brouwer will release a new album, Unlearning, in March 2004.

Keith Brown
Fell off the radar after his second album released in 1995. His name has been seen in assorted credits on a handful of albums over the years, such as a contribution he made to a 1997 Mother Teresa tribute album. Brown was most recently sighted in a photo attached to a press release (posted on CMCentral -- third photo from the top) showing him in the studio with Sixpence None the Richer's Leigh Nash. Brown is listed as co-writer and co-producer on a song entitled "A Charmed Life," which Nash contributed to the soundtrack for the MGM film, Uptown Girls.


Buck Enterprises
A CMCentral reader writes to say that the group has played its last show during summer 2003. The group's website is no longer running. Lead singer Seth Mercer now plays bass for the Chicago-based alternative band Orfyn.

Joanna Carlson
After the release of The Light of Home in 1995, Carlson did not resign with Reunion Records when it was sold in 1996. She went on to tour and write songs for other artists while working for Rocketown Publishing and Word Publishing. She worked for both companies until 2000. Since then, she independently released an acoustic pop album called The Waiting Room and a jazz Christmas album called Christmas With You. She also published a children's book. Andrew Carlton

Burlap to Cashmere
At last account, was planning to record a second album, but has not been heard from in quite some time. The band's website is also no longer available. Former lead vocalist Steven Delopoulos made his debut as a solo artist in May of 2003.

Eric Champion
Eric Champion is back this time he's brought a band, Rook, releasing their debut record in early 2005. Rook is currently in the studio working on their full length debut and Champion fans can look for a single hopefully sometime late this year. Rook is being described a "very modern rock pop with many brit pop influences for fans of OK GO, Self, Ima Robot, Luna Halo, Jellyfish, Blur and Radiohead". Chasing Furies
Disbanded after just one album. Sarah Meeker (now MacIntosh) married Jonathan MacIntosh, from Luna Halo, and has appeared on the Soul Lift compilation as well as on Michael W. Smith's Worship Again, singing on "Lord Have Mercy." A few years ago she was rumored to be working on a solo album, writing songs with Sixpence None the Richer's Matt Slocum, but that was never verified, and nothing has ever been released.

Chris Christian
Christian is now president of Home Sweet Home Records, which releases classic, sometimes otherwise out-of-print Christian albums (and a few new ones) from many of the artists that are on this very list.

Church of Rhythm
Disbanded after two albums. Founder Max Hsu went on to create the successful band Superchick. Hsu said in 2001 that he "wouldn't be surprised" to see Church of Rhythm resurface someday. Bassist Jerome Cunningham played with Superchick on "One Girl Revolution" and has released an independent project as the frontman for Jam160D.


Circadian Rhythm
Disbanded in early 2002.

Clear
Disbanded in 2001. Lead guitarist Matt Berry is now a worship leader at Eagle Brook Church in White Bear Lake, MN. Alison is reportedly living in Nashville, contemplating a solo career. Two of the other band members are finishing their degrees at Bethel College in St. Paul, MN.

Common Children

John Cox

Clay Crosse
Since his record deal with Reunion Records ended a few years ago, Crosse has released an independent Christmas album (later re-released by Christian Records), and Christian Records' website (www.christianrecords.net) made it appear that Crosse has signed a recording deal with them, although his was never been formally announced. Nothing is known about when he plans to record again except for the fact that he definitely does. Clay also serves as a worship leader for a church in Memphis, Tennessee pastored by Dana Key (formerly of the group DeGarmo & Key).

Rick Cua
As of 2001, Cua was serving as Vice President, Creative, at EMI Christian Music Publishing. It is unknown if he still holds the position. It is known, however, that he is currently hosting a series of web-based videos at worshiptogether.com called the New Song Café, which introduces worship leaders to new songs and shares background information about them and the people who wrote them. Cua also performs at the Kingdom Bound fest annually.


Curious Fools

Dudley is believed to currently be serving a minister, traveling around the country and speaking at various churches.

Earthsuit
See this News report for the full story on what happened to Earthsuit and its band members' current status. After its recording contract with Sparrow Records came to an end in 2002, Earthsuit has more or less disbanded. In mid-2003, frontman Paul Meany confirmed on the band's website that Earthsuit as a band is officially over. Paul and Darren King have formed a production team called Math, and have been working with tobyMac on his next record, as well as his Re:Mix Momentum album. The duo are also writing and performing together under the "MuteMath" moniker, with a new album due out this summer. Adam LaClave has formed a new band called Macrosick, which Meany and King may also play for. Guitarist Dave Rumsey has joined Jason Morant's band.

David Edwards
Edwards has recently reissued his previous recordings, and has recorded a new Christmas CD.

John Elefante
Elefante is reportedly working on a greatest hits collection which will include three new songs. After that, he plans to begin work on his next solo project. Since Pamplin Records, the label he was signed to, went under two years ago, it is unknown how or when Elefante plans to release these two projects, although it's said that he hopes to have the greatest hits album out before the end of 2003. We have also received word that there has been talk of recording a new Mastedon album. Elefante and his brother Dino have also started a new production company and are developing several new artists; formal announcements about this new company and its artists should be forthcoming soon.

Everybodyduck
Disbanded after their fourth album in 2000. Darin McWatters, former lead singer of the band, is said to be directing a 9-month discipleship program for college-age young people at his home church in California. Guitarist Tim Sovinec is now working as a youth pastor in California. Bassist Mark Stafford is a youth pastor in Phoenix. Singer Miranda Landers and drummer Tim Brinkman are now married and have been in full time music ministry together since the band broke up. Miranda and Tim continue to record and tour together.

Evie
After recording at least fifteen albums, Evie retired after her last album released in 1987. Evie and her husband Pele are partially responsible for the SkyAngel satellite network (Evie's voice can be heard on some SkyAngel commercials).


Fanmail
Disbanded. Scott Siletta went on to create new label Vanishing Point Records. Siletta also has a new band called The Franchise, which he formed with Off the Record's lead singer Keith Allen and bassist Chris Ozorio. The Franchise's debut CD, Original Inevitable, releases on June 3, 2003.

First Call
The original trio of McCall, Keen, and Tunney reunited to record a song on Dennis Jernigan's newest worship album, Hands Lifted High. No word on an future plans.

Five Iron Frenzy
Five Iron Frenzy played its last show in November 2003, citing a calling on all of the band members' hearts to "move on to other things." After one last studio recording sometime this summer, the band is scheduled to hold a farewell tour from September through November, culminating in a final show in Denver, Colorado. Though nothing conclusive has been announced, it is possible that some of the band's members may continue the Brave Saint Saturn side-project band. Reese and Sonnie have formed a new band Guerilla Rodeo, with Ethan Luck of the Supertones and Josh Abbot and John Warne of Ace Troubleshooter.

Five O'Clock People

Flight 180

Ben Glover
After releasing his debut album, 26 Letters, with Word Records in 2001, Glover was one of the artists lost amid the Word reshuffle when they were bought out by Warner Bros. Records. We hear that Glover is "on the verge" of signing a new record deal.

Grammatrain
Disbanded in 1999 after three albums. Frontman Pete Stewart has been engaged in numerous roles throughout the industry (see "Pete Stewart" below). Grammatrain's second guitarist, Mike Blake, has formed a new band, Gideon's Press, with founding Grammatrain member Paul Rorabach.

Guardian
Disbanded. David Bach accepted a position as Vice President of A&R with Forefront Records before moving on to a similar position at Reunion Records. Tony Palacios has produced several albums and worked in other capacities in the industry over the years. Frontman Jamie Rowe dabbled in solo work before forming a new band, Longon Calling, which he is currently shopping around for a new record deal. London Calling also features former members of The Frantics (see "The Frantics" above).

Disbanded in the mid-90s. Ed Kerr is now a songwriter for Integrity Music. Paul Wilbur is a best-selling Hosanna! Music worship leader. Jerry Williams is involved in ministry in Texas. Keyboard player Ben Ketting has his own national television show, focusing on children's praise & worship, in The Netherlands. Rumor has it that he's working on a new solo album.


Nikki Hassman
The former member of Avalon released a solo album in 2000, from which one song landed a spot in the soundtrack to The Wedding Planner. Current status unknown. Her website is no longer running.


Hoi Polloi
Hoi Polloi disbanded in 1996. Drummer Scotty Pearson was later a member of Form.


Hokus Pick

One Hundred Days
Disbanded. Onetime guitarist for the band, Tony Lind, now plays with the Craig Douglas Band. He teaches private music lessons in Oakville, Ontario, and plays as a studio musician every now and then. He was spotted at GMA 2003 accompanying Jim Witter. We have also received reports that he has filling in with Thousand Foot Krutch. Founder Andrew Horrocks currently lives in Kitchener, Ontario, and runs his own home recording studio, producing local Christian Canadian artists. One of Horrocks's songs made it onto an internationally released album, You and You Alone-the final incarnation of One Hundred Days (Tanner, Horrocks, Lind, and McWaters) were all involved in the project. Ian Tanner has been composing and producing music for a company in Canada which does album projects and animated series for kids. He is a big part of the DVD series "God Rocks" (Standard Publishing, USA), writing the musical scores for each episode, producing and performing the songs, and playing the parts of various characters on the show. The full length CD "God Rocks Cry Out" (released 2003) was produced and co-written by Tanner. Tanner's other CCM projects include "Potterfield Pond" and the "God Prints" Sunday School Curriculum series, featuring hundreds of compositions; and co-writing a song on Jim Witter's Curb album "Forgiveness," in 2003. Tanner also tours as a side-musician for Jim Witter, and country singers Jason McCoy and George Fox.

Kendall Payne
A longtime resident of the Missing Artists list, this pop/rock songstress was highly acclaimed as a prominent new modern rock singer/songwriter with the release of her 1999 album, Jordan's Sister. But within two years she had completely vanished from the business, no longer touring, and plans for her second album had apparently been shelved indefinitely. The March 2004 issue of CCM Magazine reported that the multiple Dove Award winning, Grammy nominated group, Sixpence None the Richer, has called it quits. In a published letter from founding member Matt Slocum, the group says that after ten years they are closing their doors. They talk about their experiences, discuss future plans (including what will probably be their final album from Word Records) and, thank everyone for their support over the years.

Steve Taylor
After his label, Squint Entertainment, was bought out during the Warner Bros. deal in early 2002, Taylor has rarely been seen or heard from. He produced the Newsboys' two most recent albums, Thrive and Adoration, but nothing else is known about his recent activities. At one time he had been working on a film project, entitled Saint Gimp, which he was reportedly planning on self-recording a soundtrack for, as well. But it is unknown whether or not the film, or any future musical projects by Taylor, will ever come to fruition.


Melissa Tawlks
This popular Acquire the Fire worship leader released her debut solo album on the now-closed Pamplin Records in 2001. A CMCentral reader reports she is currently on staff at Rock of Rocklin in Rocklin, California as a worship leader. She co-wrote a song with Marcos Witt, her brother Micah Tawlks, and her sister Stephanie Tawlks that appeared on The Micah Tawlks Band October 2003 release Treasure. She plans to record again, but a time frame has yet to be determined.
