Freddie Colloca shares his faith at Predators game
|
Latin pop recording artist Freddie Colloca recently shared his faith and a few new songs with an enthusiastic sell-out crowd at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center. The Miami-based singer was invited by the Nashville Predators to perform several songs from his upcoming One Voice Records project Unconditional at the hockey team's Share Your Faith Night. Colloca was a big hit with Predators fans.
"I have been a Predators season ticket holder for four years, and I have never seen a game-time performer get this arena crowd so excited," says songwriter/producer Josh Leo (Alabama, Jessica Andrews, Jimmy Buffet). "This kid is fearless, and he's a star."
The evening kicked off with a pre-game listening party, where Freddie greeted music industry professionals who came out to hear him perform his new music. Many praised the talented young singer, whose magnetic performances have been compared to Latin star Ricky Martin.
"Freddie Colloca is the kind of artist that songwriters love, because he adds life to your lyric and magic to your melody. When I met him, it was easy to understand why he's an inspirational talent," explains songwriter/producer Robert Ellis Orrall (Reba McEntire, Diamond Rio, Michael Peterson), who co-wrote the title cut from Colloca's new project with legendary producer Hal Batt (Julio Iglesias, Chayanne).
Colloca, the fastest-charting new artist of 2002, performed the title cut from his upcoming album, as well as the first single, "Savior My Savior," which has rapidly been climbing the Christian A/C and CHR/Pop charts in the last few weeks.
This week, the Latin-flavored upbeat tune entered The CCM Update's A/C Radio chart at #19. It is the Power Play Pick of the Week and is Hitbound for the third week in a row. The single is also Hitbound on The CCM Update's Pop Radio chart this week.
