FAQ

Q: What is CMCentral.com?
A: CMCentral.com is an online portal for Christian Music, with current news, album reviews, artist interviews, feature stories and more. CMCentral is part of the Salem Publishing Christian music network of websites, also including CCMMagazine.com, ChristianMusicPlanet.com and myCCM.org.

Q: What genres do you cover within Christian Music?
A: We cover pop, rock, rap & hip-hop, praise & worship and many styles in between. If you don’t find the style of music you’re looking for, please check out the other sites within our Web Network.

Q: Are you associated with CCM Magazine?
A: Yes.  We are owned by the same company.

Q: I've found a news article that I haven't seen mentioned on CMCentral.  What do I do with it?
A: Great! Please send it to
Lindsay. CMCentral and the rest of the Salem Web Network strive to make CMCentral.com’s news the most comprehensive Christian Music news available.

Q: Can I use content from CMCentral on another website?
A: RSS feeds are fine (where your website only points to the content on our site).  Or if you would like to have the latest CMCentral news headlines on your website, we have provided a way for you to copy and paste some simple HTML on your site which will display the latest 5 news headlines on your website in a branded CMCentral News box. Q: Can you add my link to your artist database?
A: At this time, our database only allows one link per artist, and that link is reserved for the artist's official site. We hope to expand our links in the future, to include more comprehensive listings.
In the meantime, check out www.myccm.orgArtist profiles at myccm allow infinite links.

Q: Hey, I'm sending you a link to an mp3. Can you listen to it and tell me what you think?
A: We're sorry, but there simply aren't enough hours in the day for our staff to accommodate personal requests like this. Please create an artist profile on myccm.org, upload your mp3 there, make friends, and ask them for their opinion.  Hey, if you get enough friends (currently at least 300 needed), you’ll be considered for coverage on the Salem Publishing music network, including CCM Magazine!

Q: I'm an independent artist and I'd like to be added to your artist database.
A: Please join myCCM.org and create an artist profile, if you haven’t already.  It’s a free, online Christian community.  Artists who have more than 300 peeps (friends) are eligible to be the Featured Artist on the site and may also be featured on CCMMagazine.com, ChristianMusicPlanet.com or in CCM Magazine.

Q: I'm a freelance writer. I'd love to contribute to CMCentral.
A: Great!  Join
www.myccm.org and post samples of your writing on your free myccm blog. Once there, contact Lindsay for consideration.

Q: Why are all of your Interviews written in simple Q&A format, instead of as more traditional articles?
A: It's a stylistic choice, but an important one. We deliberately publish our articles this way -- most of the time without altering a single word that was said in the live interview -- because it gives readers the bare, raw answer that the artist provides.

Q: Why not hire out more album reviewers, to allow for more than just one viewpoint?
A: We are currently allowing fans to post their reviews of albums on CCMmagazine.com and ChristianMusicPlanet.com.  We hope to include this functionality on CMCentral.com very soon!
