Ja'Marc Davis pleads guilty to charges; Raze disbands
|
According to an article in last week's Tulsa World newspaper, Ja'Marc Davis of the group Raze pleaded guilty on November 1 to the charges against him. Davis was charged with sexual offenses against a minor -- a young girl that was one of the group's back-up dancers. Seven of his Davis' ten felony counts were dismissed.
Davis offered a no guilty plea as part of a plea bargain, which included a recommended 10-year sentence with 10-year probation.
A background report is being prepared "to evaluate Davis' merits as a probation candidate," according to Judge Jefferson Sellers. Davis was told there is no "guarantee of probation."
Davis is scheduled for sentencing on December 13.
In related news, Forefront Records announced today that Raze is disbanding. Raze has been on the Forefront roster since January 1998.
Greg Ham, President of Forefront, said, "Before we could announce our decision about the future of Raze at Forefront, they came to us with their decision to go their separate ways. We wish Ja'Marc, Donnie, Mizzie, and Todd well and we pray God's blessing for their futures."
