Pigeon John
The West Coast has given birth to many of the predominant Hip Hop artist of our time. A majority of underground superstars began their careers at The Good Life Cafe in Los Angeles. This place served as a boot camp to Freestyle Fellowship, Kurupt, The Pharcyde, and The Black Eyed Peas. It would also pave the way for a young phenom named Pigeon John hailing out of Hawthorne, Ca. Years would go by as he learned how to rock the mic while showcasing his skills as a powerful wordsmith with an eclectic style. Pigeon John could swing Hip Hop or Punk Rock without ever losing a beat or the crowds attention. His honest appeal would make him one of the most prolific artists of our time.
In recent years he has been a part of the groups Brainwash Project and L.A. Symphony. The albums “The Rise and Fall of Brainwash Projects”, “Composition #1”, and “Baloney” have been deemed as classics by the underground community and have sold 20,000 units independently. He has been featured on countless compilations and guest appearances in America and Japan. He has toured the U.S. nine times over, as a soloist and with L.A. Symphony. In 2001 they were the featured group on the Yahoo.com/NBA Summer Tour. He continued to make moves with L.A. Symphony by scoring a featured song in the hit movie “Get Over It” starring Kirsten Dunst and Sisqo and landing an LAS song on the sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle.” Pigeon John and LAS also contributed six songs on the XBOX games “Project Gotham” and “Vince Carters Lane Drive.” In 2001 he released his solo debut entitled Pigeon John is Clueless, which has sold over 17,000 units independently.
The future is here. Pigeon John blends melodic rhythms, heartbreaking Hip Hop, and original concepts washing away any and all stereotypes. With influences from De La Soul to the Beatles, his songs capture and hypnotize the audience from beginning to end. He wears his heart on his sleeve and in his music and that connects with backpackers, punks and geeks alike. His shows are stripped down and legendary, melding energy and humor.
