Model Engine
Biography
Model Engine
Model Engine hails from the sunny shores of Santa Barbara, CA. Formed in late 1996, the band has steadily gained a loyal following at home and abroad. In the summer of 1997 after a national tour with Sixpence None the Richer, Model Engine entered the studio and recorded their first album, "The Lean Years Tradition". Critically acclaimed and well received, "The Lean Years Tradition" showcased the bands ability to combine odd time signatures and unique chord progressions into something memorable and satisfying. With Erik Herzog (drums), Brad McCarter (bass, vocals) and Jeremy Post (guitar, vocals), Model Engine highlights a collaboration of three friends who share a common and diverse love for music. Landing somewhere between Husker Du and Led Zeppelin the songs are dynamic, original, and always heartfelt. Shortly after the release of "The Lean Years Tradition", Model Engine was sidelined with contractual problems. The band took a two-year hiatus and pursued other projects. In January of 2000, 5 Minute Walk Records approached Model Engine with an offer to re-release "The Lean Years Tradition". The band accepted and the album was sent to Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Chili Peppers, Counting Crows) for remixing. A tentative release date for fall of 2000 has been set. |
