 Ken Tamplin
 Biography

With a four octave range for his rich vocal tones, and the ability to play almost any stringed instrument within reach, Ken Tamplin is fertile ground for musical growth. As a recording artist, Tamplin's discography includes seventeen albums released internationally through various mid-size and major labels. The most recent a collaborative release, Shout Back. Shout Back is a reunion album for the Heavy Metal band Shout in which Tamplin was featured throughout the late 80's and early 90's. Along the way, eleven major award nominations have lead to three statuettes for Tamplin's mantel. As melodic metal faded to accommodate a grunge/punk explosion, Tamplin refused to step gracefully to the background. Midi composition was on the rise as the new method of choice for film and advertising cues and Tamplin quickly realized the possibilities. After all, there is nothing quite like new technology to instantly level the playing field. Tamplin became the MIDI man and his composition and production skills remained in demand through the dry spell experienced by others. Now, it seems that the industry has come full circle. Those who entered the fray when MIDI was King are less familiar with the exacting techniques required by composition and recording with the LIVE instrumentation now in demand. Guess who has the skills to come to the rescue? Bingo! Tamplin the MIDI man is every bit in his element as... Tamplin the LIVE guy. Ken Tamplin's four octave vocal range and consummate professionalism has kept on-stage performance in the mix as well. He has performed the National Anthem - complimented of course by sets of his own material - at several major sporting events, and has in recent years toured the United States, Germany and Japan in support of his solo material.
