Plankeye
Biography
Plankeye
With "Relocation", PlankEye's debut album on new label, BEC Recordings, Eric and Luis deliver to their fans (and anyone else who will listen) their best material to date, while featuring a brand new arrangement and line-up. The result is the most satisfying and rewarding experience in PlankEye's recording history. Luis and Eric are no strangers to songwriting, having written the majority of PlankEye's material over the last several years. With nearly 150,000 units sold in verifiable soundscan sales from the last two albums, PlankEye looks to build on their fan base with this new project. The challenge and excitement that Luis and Eric feel in singing their own music is evident in the passion and fervor that this album reflects. While previous albums have experienced numerous #1 radio singles, this new record promises to exceed past accolades, and introduce the band into an even more expanded and increasingly mature musical audience. Fans of the band's honest and self reflective style of songwriting will find "Relocation" well worth the wait. Working again with producer, Gene Eugene (Over the Rhine, Adam Again), the band has created a "straight rock record". A healthy mix of up-tempo tunes and heartfelt ballads establish a wonderfully accessible and versatile album. "Each song is inspired by something unique and different from the others on the record", says Luis Garcia. "All of the songs are meant to glorify God, and we certainly desire to do everything we do, even in our songwriting, under His shadow." This approach is evident throughout the lyrics of the new record. From the opening track, "Say now that you're sorry", to the moving "Indivisible", intensely spiritual themes are dealt with, and the listener is forced to appreciate God's grace, while still feeling the need to look inwardly for an honest self-evaluation. |
