WOW, Christian music’s defining brand for top artist-top music compilations, announces the RIAA Gold certifications of WOW Worship (Aqua), WOW Christmas (Green) and the Platinum certification of WOW Christmas (Red).
Created through the partnership between the three largest Christian music/entertainment companies in the industry, including EMI CMG, Provident Music Group and Word Entertainment, the marketing and distribution of WOW projects are shared between each company with each release.
Released April 4, 2006 by Provident Music Group, WOW Worship (Aqua) targeted to bring strong consumer appeal to both praise and worship and Christian music buyers with its’ bannering of “30 Powerful Worship Songs From Today’s Top Artists.” Unique to the release of the 2-CD set was the inclusion of eight new recordings from major name artists that will be available exclusively on the Aqua collection. Acclaimed artists such as Michael W. Smith, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, BarlowGirl, Natalie Grant, Casting Crowns, Newsboys, Rebecca St. James, Jeremy Camp and Amy Grant are among those represented on this release.
Word Entertainment released the Gold certified WOW Christmas (Green) in 2005. Featuring 30 holiday songs from the industry’s top performers, including 15 new recordings, WOW Christmas (Green) is currently the only WOW project that has ever received a Dove Award nomination from the Gospel Music Association. The Platinum certified WOW Christmas (Red) released in 2002 and continues to be the premier collection holiday songs available at retail.
