Jerry Wise
As a child, Jerry sang on 2 Dove nominated children's albums with Jodi Benson, Disney’s Little Mermaid and on a children’s album for Kid Rhino/Warner Brothers. Then when he was 13 years old, he won a solo spot with the San Antonio Symphony.
In college, Jerry majored in classical voice. He was involved in jazz choir, men’s choir and concert choir. In his sophomore year he had the opportunity to study overseas where he was awarded the Dean’s Award for outstanding leadership. That was also the year that Jerry picked up a guitar and a whole new world of music opened up for him. He filled a 3-ring binder with praise and worship songs and began leading the worship team on campus.
For the past two summers Jerry served as Music Leader for Group Work Camps, a youth missions program sponsored by Group Publishing. Out of all the music leaders involved, Jerry was ranked #1.
Jerry Wise comes from a family of musicians and writers. He resigned from his church staff position in order to dedicate himself fully to his song writing and worship leading. He has recently released his first album, “Grain of Sand”. As a former worship arts minister, he spent years encouraging Christians to seek God in their daily living. He also discovered that music is a tremendous avenue to share your faith, express your love for God, inspire each other to live Godly lives and to reach others with the love of Jesus. |
