Acts29
Braille’s love for hip-hop and his involvement in this style of music, has been for the last six years. One of his major influences as a child, as far as music, was Q-tip of A Tribe Called Quest. The music became a big part of Braille’s life and listening progressed to performing. He has been involved in several projects with various groups.
Braille’s first release was under the name “Reflection.” The second tape was released in ‘98 with the group, Mentors of the Aurora. That same year another tape was released under the name “Perplex for the Mind/Braille for the Soul.” His first CD was in ‘99 under the name Braille. It was called “Life First: Half the Battle” and was released on Eastwick (eswpmusic.com). Braille works as a solo artist but also performs with several other groups. “Cave Wonders” (Braille and Ethic), “Return to Sender” (Braille and Ohmega Watts), “Super Double” (Braille and Doug MC) “Blue Collars Collective” (Braille, Sev Statik and Manchild of Mars Ill and Deepspace 5), “INFO Traits” (Braille and Elucid) & the current project Acts 29 under Syntax Records, which consists of 3 members: Bryan (Braille) Winchester, Milton (Ohmega Watts) Campbell, and Mike (Soul Plasma) Greene.
Although members of Acts 29 have lived in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Seattle, all are currently residing in Portland, Oregon working as part of the youth ministry at New Beginnings Christian Center. Acts 29 is performing at least once a week either at a booking or before the Wednesday service at their church.
