Ronan Tynan
Biography
Ronan Tynan
Ronan Tynan’s personal story of triumph in the face of adversity is the stuff of which legends are made. The subject of an ABC-TV 20/20 profile, Ronan was born with legs that were shortened and deformed below the knee, yet his parents always treated him like they didn’t care how he looked or walked, encouraging him to sing and to believe in himself. Ronan’s music career began in 1994, when he entered a nationally-televised talent show in his native Ireland… and won. One of the judges was putting together a new group of Three Tenors – The Irish Tenors – and asked Ronan to join. It was an enormous success and introduced Ronan to America for the first time via a live concert special on PBS and a series of best-selling albums which have sold over one million copies combined. Ronan now calls New York home and has sung “God Bless America” on numerous occasions at Yankee Stadium, including the September 11 Memorial Service televised on CNN. He is also a highly sought after motivational speaker, delivering words and music of hope and inspiration to thousands of people around the country. Last year, Ronan performed at the memorial service for former President Ronald Reagan and was subsequently invited to sing at George W. Bush’s Presidential Inauguration this year. Throughout his remarkable life, Ronan has come to embody the best qualities of the human spirit: Inspiration, Dedication, Courage, Compassion, Joy. His list of accomplishments is even more impressive when you consider that it all began with a disabled boy who never stopped believing in the power of dreams…and the power of music. Experience the heart and soul of Ronan Tynan on Ronan, his new album and debut solo recording for Decca Records. |
